This is my sister and our little burro jenny we call Burrito (very original, I know). We "rescued" her about a year ago, her former owners were very neglectful and abusive. The hardly fed her, beat her, practiced tie-down calf roping on her, and had left her halter on too tight for too long and it had grown into the skin on her nose. She was very shy at first, but now that she knows that we won't hurt her, and that we give her cookies and scratch her ears , she follows us everywhere.

You can see her freeze brand on her neck, she was captured along with her mother when she was about 6 months old by the Bureau of Land Management. Basically, she’s the donkey version of a mustang.
